On behalf of the Joliet Public Library and our staff members, our Library Board of Trustees and friends of the library in our community, we would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Illinois Senator Pat McGuire for choosing Project Burnham as a regional project for the capital appropriations bill. The funding from this bill will allow us to modernize our historic Ottawa Street building, benefiting generations of Joliet residents for years to come, without additional property tax costs.
Senator McGuire is a true advocate and champion for the library, which stands for literacy and learning, acceptance, inclusivity and community. We thank him for believing in our vision and helping us achieve our full potential, building the library that our great community deserves.
